Looking for Recipe to make Granita biscuits - 2008/07/24 04:03 Hiya..


MM chew up heaps of Arnotts Granita biscuits a day and its getting pricey and smaller every few months. Is anyone out there able to make and share this recipe with me?

I search the net for you and found this suggestion. The author of this recipe claims that it taste similar. Hope it does let me know!

4 Tbsp (1/4 cup) butter, softened
1 egg, well beaten
6 Tbsp brown sugar
4 Tbsp honey
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. water
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
3/4 cup flour

Preheat oven to 175 Celsius.

Combine the butter, egg, and sugar in a bowl and beat until smooth and creamy. Stir in the honey and blend. Dissolve the baking powder in the water and add to the butter mixture. Add the salt, wholemeal flour and flour to the mixture and blend until combined. The dough should hold together and be manageable. If it is too "tacky" add a little more wholemeal flour. Dust a surface with wholemeal flour and roll the dough out about 6mm thick. Puncture the dough throughout with a fork. Use a round cutter and place cookies onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake on the first side for 8 minutes, then turn over and bake for 6-7 minutes. Cool on racks.
